I don’t understand how people can still think Kobe’s career is somewhat on par with Michael’s.
FACTS: + Kobe does not win his championships if Shaq or Pao are not there. (Pao elevated them from a championship contender to championship favorite) Say what you wan’t about Pao but he is considered one of the most offensively skilled 7 footers in the world.
+ The NBA made changes to its rules to give the offense an advantage in the mid 90’s. Taking out the arm bar or hand check, players at the time seen an increase in PPG and FG% dramatically. For instance, if you’re defending the ball carrier and he begins to go around you, you could use your hands or forearms to keep him in front of you. Nowadays, in organized basketball you can’t do that. TOUCH FOUL?!
+ I’m not taking anything away from the Kobe cult- but you need to watch more basketball.. Kobe is the smoothest athlete to grace the court, ever. His footwork, his clutch factor, the list goes on. His dominance on both ends of the floor are unmatched by any current player. I’ll give you that, but Kobe does not have the career he had if these rules were never changed.
